Welp, tomorrow is the day that I officially start the CDT. It’s been a journey to this point but here we are. My dad and I drove on out starting June 13th and after staying the night in Glasgow, MT we finally arrived in East Glacier around 3pm and I immediately headed to the Looking Glass Hostel to meet up with other hikers and hopefully beg my way onto a permit…
Half an hour later I am joining, Deferred, Samurai, and Hamburgler on a six night trip south through the park! I’ve also met a bunch of other really cool people like Luna and Will, the owners and hosts of the looking glass basecamp and have been incredibly nice and helpful. Autopilot who actually already finished the glacier section starting on June 8th! He gave really nice information about the snow(of lack thereof). Overall, just really excited to get out there with all these cool people!
